Sue Bliesath, DVM

Dr. Sue Bliesath graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Dr. Bliesath then joined Secaucus Animal Hospital in NJ as an Associate. She later practiced for several years at the American Animal Hospital in Randolph, NJ and Newton Veterinary Hospital where she managed internal medicine and surgical cases for small animals. Her interests include laser surgery, dentistry and behavior. Dr. Bliesath emphasizes strong communication with clients to give you the information you need to make the best decision for maintaining your pet's health.

Dr. Bliesath has 3 children, a cat Max, a dog Miley and a dwarf hamster Squirt. She understands how important your pets are to you and treats all her patients like her own pets.



Sara Amento, DVM

Dr. Sara Amento graduated from Cook College, Rutgers University in 1994. She then went to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM in 1998. She joined the Animal Medical Group in Plainfield, New Jersey after graduation and practiced there for 9 years. During that time she treated a wide variety of small animal medical and surgical cases. Geriatrics and reproduction management are two areas of particular interest for Dr. Amento. As the 2008-09 president of the Metropolitan New Jersey Veterinary Medicine Association, Dr. Amento also is able to take an active part in providing continuing education lectures for local veterinarians.

Dr. Amento keeps busy outside of the practice with her husband, Brian, her little girl, Lydia, and her senior citizen Golden Retriever mix, Maysie.

She is very excited to be a part of Family Pet Hospital where patients and clients are given the utmost in care and concern, as well as the finest in medical and surgical services.

Laura Ratigan

Laura Ratigan has been in the veterinary field for over 15 years. She started as a receptionist and was then trained to be a technician. She eventually was promoted to Head Technician. After taking some time off to have a child, Laura returned to work at Animal Emergency abd Referral Associates and worked in the surgery department for two years before coming to Family Pet Hospital.
